Where’s Wally?

Hi everyone,

It seems ages since I’ve written. The fire is on 24/7 and the Winter mist has taken over. I love it! Such great weather for hibernating and going within.

Yesterday I hung my South Australian Living Artists Exhibit at Norwood Central (number 198 in the SALA guide). It’s called “A Colourful Life” and is a little pocket of Glow in the Hoyts complex. There is a recent painting “Catching the Thread” hanging in the centre. Here is a little bit about it.

“I painted this work whilst my outer life was changing- New directions, new surroundings and new studio. I felt weird…

Whilst I am accustomed to change I found this time pulled me strongly into a centre of discovery where colour connections anchored my soul and layers of life revealed themselves. Painting opened up pathways across the canvas where any sense of anxiousness was dispelled and somehow I was eased forward into the next moment.

Thank God for my practise, I thought, the one thing that makes sense in a slippery world.

This painting took weeks of intuitive colour mixing and gentle brushstroke. Each colour is a unique mix of many oils that are placed in the moment with an incredible amount of trust.”

Another venture I have been undertaking is sewing my Cotton Linen Fabric Cushions! I love the idea of my paintings being on fabric, wearable and flowing. So this is just the beginning! You can see a few of the creations in the pics included. They are available for purchase. Watch this space!!

I am currently painting for the Loreto College opening and a group show in Bologna, Italy in December. And don’t forget the SALA opening at Central Studios in Kent Town on the 18th August. Come and have a bubbles with me and see some incredible art by over 15 SA artists in their studios! SALA is here!
